Gup Testing is held every month for those candidates that are eligible and
fulfill the time requirement (3-4 months), training requirement (twice a
week on average), mental knowledge requirement (Terminology) and also the
good discipline to be considered for their next rank. Each Gup level
has its own minimum time, skill and knowledge requirements to qualify to
test for the next level. For
testing candidates, please see the
Gup Testing Notice
for the upcoming Shim Sa. Additionally, the
Federation
application form (9th Gup Candidates),
community service
form
and the parent/teacher evaluation form require completion before the student
is eligible for their next rank advancement. Considering that Kwan
Jang Nim Hwang Kee stressed the importance of a martial artist also being
a scholar, we require a copy of the candidates latest report card and/or
progress report. This requirement is for students in elementary,
middle and high school. Students with below average performance will
not be eligible for their next rank. Academics are very important in
our lives and we should put the same principles of discipline from our
training into our education. All paperwork and testing fees are due
per the event calendar
and must be presented neat and complete. Late paperwork and fees are
not accepted.
